Flipout 7.2-Volt Cordless Screwdriver

The first time I heard about Kickstarter was when someone told me that multi-bazillionaire Zach Braff was drumming up money to make some unwatchable art film. I think he got 3.1 million dollars or something. I thought the ridiculously high ticket prices were donation enough, but I guess I'm wrong.

But anyway, recently I've found some worthy projects at the site, including my old friend who just raised enough coin to start bottling her own whiskey (now, THAT is worth donating to). And then, this morning, I got an email directing me to another campaign, this one for the Flipout Electric Screwdriver.

Honestly, this thing looks pretty cool. It's got a stick handle with a multi-point articulating head. It comes with two 7.2 li-ion batteries, a case, a detachable LED, and a sleeve of bits. It's worth checking out the video to see how the head can move. Definitely an inventive approach and there is a ton more information at the Kickstarter page. Is there a need for this tool? Well, that's up to you and the moths that live in your wallet...
