Husqvarna has announced the release of something called the Fast Tractor. It's apparently the fastest riding mower in its class (mowers under $2500). And it's not just a little faster, it's quite a bit faster. Regular boring mowers top out in the turtle-like range of 5-6mph, but this cheetah can chase prey in the 7-8mph range.
We're sure that this is a sweet mower. Husqvarna is a great name and at a price of almost $2000, it better be pretty damned nice. What we're not sure about is the big emphasis on how fast the thing can go. Our experience is that whenever we rush to mow the lawn, it ends up looking terrible and we have to go back a week later to clean up the mess. Plus, fast tractors just give us these images of drunken, shirtless rednecks racing through giant mud puddles.
