Duo-Fast Winner Announced

winner_df.jpgWe're happy to announce that Dave A. is the big winner of the Duo-Fast gun. It was a tough call and there were a lot of really great entries; there were funny ones, poignant ones, serious ones, and quite a few lame ones. We couldn't bring ourselves to pick a single winner out of all the good ones, so we chose the best ten from the bunch and did a random drawing from those.

And we're happy with the results. Dave's entry was the first one logged in and it falls under the poignant category. Here's what he said:

Its not for me, its for my Brother-in-law, Travis.

After the flood of 2008 devastated our home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, it was Travis who came down to help us rebuild. Once we got the site cleaned up, he loaded his truck with tools and drove three hours to help us out. He redefined my definition of what a carpenter can do and what family is capable of.

Three weeks ago, Travis revisited us and helped us build the garage we've been without since the flood destroyed it two years ago. He agreed to help in exchange for a couple of weekends of my time when he remodels his house this winter. That weekend we finished the two story garage in three 15 hour days and after all that work, I think my entire winter is going to be spent in indentured servitude at his place! It was worth it. I have a garage! Now, with room enough for tools!!!

I'd love to present Travis with this new coil nailer to replace the battered one he currently uses. He's definitely deserving of it and it'd be a great way of showing him how he's truly appreciated.

We'd like to thank everyone who participated. We really enjoyed reading the entries. We only wish we could give out about a dozen more of these things.

Honestly I took a look at that one and still entered even though I figured it was a done deal. Guy definitely deserves the gun! I hope it works well for him!
